CGES, St. Petersburg State University
In 2016, around 20 research papers in various scientific domains, including sociology, political science, economics and international relations, were submitted to an annual competition. Written by MA and PhD students from Russian and European institutions, the papers covered topical issues of Russian and European societies, as well as of international relations between Russia and Europe.
As a final part of the competition, 4 selected authors presented their papers. The best paper award went to Anastasia Golofast, an MA student from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
The winner received a grant to undertake a research trip to Europe in early 2017 and collect empirical data in order to develop the paper for publication in the CGES Working Papers series in 2017. All finalists were invited to take part in the workshop "International Papers Writing and Publishing" on March 24 2017.
