The individual research project ‘Toennies-Weber-Kovalevski-Sorokin: Early Contacts of Sociologists of Russia and Germany’, conducted by Nikolay Golovin, Faculty of Sociology, St Petersburg University, was designed in order to study unknown and little-known scientific ties between Russian and German sociological communities of late 19th – early 20th centuries. The research aimed at providing more conceptual understanding of the development of the sociology of both countries and its influence on modern social science. Nikolay undertook a thorough work in archives of the German Sociological Society and in the library of the University of Konstanz. The collected material allowed preparing four articles published in peer-reviewed journals cited in Scopus, Web of Science, and other databases.
