A four-day workshop “How to Write a Successful Application for Research Financing” attended by MA and PhD students, researchers, and lecturers from St Petersburg University, National Research University Higher School of Economics and other leading Russian universities was held at the Centre for German and European Studies (SPbU – Bielefeld University) last weekend.
The ultimate goal of the workshop was to initiate joint work of participants in writing research proposals and searching for funding.
Teachers of the workshop - Alexander Kuteynikov, associate professor at the Faculty of Sociology of St. Petersburg University and Anatoly Boyashov, researcher, DFG GRK 2225 “World Politics”, Bielefeld University - spoke of requirements to applications for research financing as well as characteristics of funding organizations in Russia and abroad. Participants were invited to prepare a draft application based on their own research and to identify sources of financing.
On Saturday, a round-table discussion devoted to requirements to grantees and grantmakers’ expectations took place within the workshop.
