Today, a presentation of the “Report on the State of Civil Society in the EU and Russia: Case studies of the UK, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Estonia” is held in Prague, with the support of the Centre for German and European studies of St Petersburg University.
Every year, an expert group of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum focuses on four EU countries and Russia and discusses the main trends in the development of civil society, challenges faced by civil society organizations in the analysed countries and their possible solutions.
Today’s meeting is to discuss the Report of 2019, including the case of Czechia, obtain feedback on the research, but also to compare it with other cases of European countries as well as to discuss the state of civil society research in more general terms.

Furthermore, a workshop "Current trends in the development of CSO in Germany, the EU and Russia" joined by both previous researchers and new participants of the project from France, Austria, Latvia, and Slovenia will be held in Prague on February 6-7.
This collaboration will help to elaborate the methodology of comparative studies of the most important trends and events in the NGOs’ development across countries.
