The final of the Russian-European research papers competition for junior scientists has just finished at the Centre for German and European Studies.
During the final, 6 articles out of the total 18 competing papers by Russian and European researchers were presented by their authors: Ivan Gonzalez, St. Petersburg State University; Eline Helmer, University College London; Alina Novik, European University at St. Petersburg; Antonina Ovrutskaya, NRU HSE; Michela Romano, University of Bologna; Lola Rouze, Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University.
The finalists answered questions from the jury, consisting of the CGES, SPbSU, and Bielefeld University representatives. Following a lively discussion, the winner was selected: Eline Helmer with the article “Smoothening and Softening. The interpreter as an everyday diplomat”.
Eline receives a grant to conduct an empirical research in Russia. The results will be published in the CGES Working Papers series in 2019.
Tomorrow, all the finalists will participate in the workshop on international papers writing, held by Dr. Verena Molitor from Bielefeld University.
