Centre for German and European Studies

This July, the Centre for German and European studies supported a research trip of Margarita Kuleva, an assistant professor of the Sociology department at NRU HSE and a graduate of the CGES PhD Fellowship programme, to Great Britain. Margarita’s work deals with labor conditions, identities, and careers in creative industries of London, St. Petersburg, and Moscow.

Margarita shares some results: “This time, I managed to conduct a series of in-depth interviews at the major public institutions and to meet some of my informants from the past. It allowed me to balance the research sample and to gain a deeper insight into the key topics of the project. I also traveled to Yorkshire, where I visited some key cultural institutions and established necessary contacts in York and Leeds”.

Margarita’s research results will be published as a book chapter and in the CGES Working Papers.
