This international conference represented the last component of the research-based professionalization project ‘Between Stability and Transformation: Regional and Transnational Cooperation in Central Asia and Between Central Asia and Europe’ (2016-2019).
This project contributed in enhancing the interdisciplinary research capacities of researchers from Central Asia, focusing on Central Asian issues within the social sciences. The conference brought together experts from Central Asia, Germany, Russia, Europe, and the US who presented their research and discussed traditional and non-traditional security challenges in Central Asia, intra- and interregional cooperation as well as the engagement of international organization in the field of security in the region. Two final publications collecting the best papers presented at the conference are foreseen.
