The public lecture by Prof. Dr. Lester Salamon from John Hopkins University (USA) and Higher School of Economics in Moscow was organized at the Faculty of Sociology in order to discuss the results of international comparative research by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in different countries around the world.
By being one of the leading academic scholars in the world on studies of the global civil society and non-governmental non-profit sector, as well as head of the leading research centres and projects, he shared his research experiences, results and ideas about the most important trends and factors influencing NGO development. The public lecture was well attended: about 50 people came to listen and to discuss the lecture, including students, young scholars and experienced professors as well as NGO representatives.
