This two-day workshop provided a forum to share cutting-edge research advancing social and semantic network theories and methods, in particular by combining social structures, semantic co-word networks and meanings in/of networks. The keynotes of the workshop were Prof. Steve Borgatti (University of Kentucky, Gatton College of Business and Economics) and Prof. John Mohr (UC Santa Barbara).

The German-Russian Summer School for BA students was organized in 2015 for the fifth time.

CGES, St. Petersburg State University
The Summer School was organized in response to the growing interest of students and researchers in interdisciplinary urban studies applying concepts, methods and techniques of network analysis to social, cultural, and technical dimensions of European urban landscapes.
35 students and researchers with diverse training coming from different countries met 5 invited teachers from European and US universities. The intensive program included lectures, workshops, presentations, and some extracurricular activities.

As a follow-up to many previous activities in the field of urban studies and civil societies studies, the CGES participated in organizing the International Conference ‘The UNESCO World Heritage and the Role of Civil Society in Bonn‘. A similar event was held in St. Petersburg in 2012, also with the support of the CGES.
