On September 13, 2014, together with the Department of International Competitiveness and Network Interactions of the Institute of Economics, Russian Academy of Sciences, CGES held a session ‘Dimensions of Studying and Building Innovation Clusters: European Lessons’ at the XII International Triple Helix conference ‘The Triple Helix and Innovation-Based Economic Growth: New Frontiers and Solutions’ in Tomsk, Russia. The Triple Helix conference is a large-scale intentional annual event, which brought together 232 participants in 2014.

Conference ‘Social Media and Social Movements’

The conference ‘Social Media and Social Movements’ was organized by the Laboratory for Internet Studies (NRU Higher School of Economics) for the second time in 2014, now with support by the Centre for German and European Studies. The conference aimed at the emerging – and vibrant – interdisciplinary community of scholars interested in digital society – a society where social life is embedded in rapidly developing communication technologies and media.

The German-Russian Summer School for BA students was organized in 2014 for the fourth time in cooperation with the ASKO Foundation and the European Academy Otzenhausen. Since 2011, this activity and cooperation proved to be successful and useful. Moreover, the previous experiences were taken into account, and the programme was updated according to the feedback of the students from the last year.
